Borderline Culture Festiwal FOLKOWISKO it's an annual event which has it's place in tiny village Gorajec in Podkarpackie region in Eastern Poland. It's gonna be 5th edition of festival this year. Folkowisko is unique interdisciplinary 3 days event which presents multicultural sources of our national culture. During every edition we are moving important social issues,but at the same time we are providing great fun to our guests with the best artists performing traditional european music. Our festival was appreciated by EFFE for its special atmosphere, caring for tradition and innovative way of organizing and promoting event at the same time,as well as great connection with audience,local community and artists.During these 5 years we managed to create strong community gathered around festival.
Every year Folkowisko has new theme ,but there are some constant points.There are debates, folk crafts workshops, trainings, concerts and local tours( walking, car tours or kayaking). We are doing our best to make sure that festival's guests are actively involved in all events, so most of our guests are coming back to us again and again,we do feel connected to festival.Thanks to that our festival as well as whole region are well recognizable.We have good achievments on the field of education and promotion, Folkowisko is often called „three day school of folk crafts, culture and tradition''. Folkowisko is also a space for cultural exchange between different social groups.Thinking of new festival's attractions one of the most important things for us is our region's promotion,presenting of its diversity and uniqueness.Creating Folkowisko's brand we are also creating brand of Roztocze Wschodnie as a perfect place for rest in the surrounding of nature and traditional culture.
This year the subtitle is "The Great Journey” and we will focus on migrants. We want to speak about problem of migration, listen to the music of forgotten nations that have long disappeared from our lands and learn their forgotten skills. Some of the events will be translated into English, since our guests will be coming from all over the world. The main events of every Folkowisko are: Storyteller's Night (Friday) and Folk Night (Saturday). But there are plenty of other activities during the three days of Folkowisko: walking tours, car and bycicle rides, workshops and games.
We are intend to talk about issues assosiated with migrants of past and present times. We'll listen to the music of forgotten nations and we'll find out about customs of nomadic people. We'll feel like emigrants from past Galicja who travelled for the bread to USA and other countries during our village quest. We won't forget about nowdays emigrants who leave empty houses behind them. As for the music offer it will be as interesting as always.
We'll have estonian band Trad.Attack and ukrainian DJ Hopta. Our special guests will be energetic band from Hungary Bohemian Betyars and polish band Hańba. We'll also have gigs of young musicians Monika Kolwalczyk,Mateusz Nocek and band Janki whom we discovered during our musical contest ''New Sources''.
Festival Folkowsko will last for three days from 10th July to 12th July 2015.

El Festival FOLKOWISKO es un evento anual que tiene lugar en la pequeña aldea de Gorajec en la Polonia oriental. Este año celebramos la quinta edición del festival. Folkowisko es el único evento que presenta la gran multiculturalidad de nuestra cultura nacional, y siempre es el segundo fin de semana de Julio y dura 3 dias. Cada año nos centramos en diferentes aspectos culturales, pero al mismo tiempo ofrecemos una gran diversión para nuestros huéspedes con los mejores artistas de la música europea tradicional. Nuestro festival ha sido valorado por EFFE Label para la temporada 2015-2016 por su ambiente especial, por promover y preservar las tradiciónes así como por su innovadora organización, la promoción de eventos y la gran conexión que tenemos con el público, la comunidad local y los artistas.
Cada año Folkowisko habla de diferentes temas como la cultura del campo o las mujeres pero también de la cultura ucraniana o judía. Siempre organizamos debates, talleres de artesanía, presetaciones, juegos populares, conciertos y excursiones (a pie, en coche o en kayak). Hacemos todo lo posible para asegurarnos de que los huéspedes del festival están activamente involucrados en todos los eventos, por eso la mayoría de nuestros visitantes vuelven a Gorajec una y otra vez. Gracias a nuestro festival la región Podkarpacie es cada vez más conocida. Tenemos una gran experiencia en los campos de la educación y la promoción; al Folkowisko se le conoce como "la escuela de tres días de artesanía popular, cultura y tradición''. Folkowisko es también un espacio para el intercambio cultural entre grupos distintos. Pensando en las nuevas atracciones del festival siempre nos fijamos en la promoción de nuestra región, la presentación de su diversidad y singularidad. Al preparar Folkowisko también estamos creando la marca de Roztocze, región situada al este del país donde se juntan Polonia y Ucrania, y que es un lugar perfecto para el descanso rodeados de naturaleza y cultura tradicional.
Este año, el tema es "El Gran Viaje" y se centra en los migrantes. Queremos hablar sobre el problema de la migración, aprender habilidades y escuchar la música de las naciones olvidadas que desde hace mucho tiempo desaparecirón de nuestras tierras. Algunos de los eventos serán traducidos al Inglés, ya que nuestros huéspedes vendrán de todas partes del mundo. Los principales acontecimientos de cada Folkowisko son: Noche de cuentacuentos (viernes) y Noche de Folk (Sábado). Pero hay un montón de actividades más durante los tres días de Folkowisko: excursiones, talleres, juegos, conciertos y también una muy buena ocasión para probar la comida típica de Polonia, incluyendo sus licores y cervezas.
Queremos hablar de temas relacionados con los migrantes de tiempos pasados y presentes. Nos sentimos como emigrantes de Galicia (el nombre antiguo del sureste de Polonia) que viajaron por motivos económicos a EE.UU. y también a otros países. No podemos olvidarnos de los emigrantes de hoy en día que han tenido que dejar sus casas atrás y buscar un nuevo lugar.
En cuanto a la oferta músical, ésta será tan interesante como siempre. Este año van a tocar para nosotros los grupos de Estonia "Trad.Attack”, de Ucrania "DJ Hopta”, de Polonia "Hanba” y también un grupo especial de Hungría "Betyars”. Como siempre vamos a promocionar músicos jóvenes como Monika Kolwalczyk, Mateusz Nocek y la banda Janki, a quienes descubrimos durante nuestro concurso musical '' Nuevas Fuentes ''.

Етнофестиваль Folkowisko – це одна з найцікавіших культурних подій у східній Польщі. Захід проводитиметься у днях 7-10 липня у селі Гораєць серед мальовничих лісів Розточчя, між Львовом, Перемишлем і Любліном, на польсько-українському пограниччі.
На фестивалі виступатимуть європейські зірки музики етно — Богеміан Бетйарс з Угорщини, Tрад.Атак! З Естонії та Ганьба з Польщі. Як завжди в Горайці гратимуть також українські музиканти — Неймлес та Діджей Гопта з Тернополя та Оленки зі Львова.
Невід'ємною частиною етнофестивалю є відкриті уроки, майстер-класи та семінари-тренінги. Для любителів екстремальних пригод екають спортивні та туристичні походи, які дозволять краще ознайомитись з навколишньою місцевістю. Кожен охочий може покуштувати прості сільські страви, послухати цікаві легенди. Розважальна програма розточанської забави складається з концертів, майстер-класів, розвиваючих практик, ігор та захоплюючої експедицій для справжніх екстремалів. Захід організовано для людей, котрі цікавляться, туризмом, краєзнавством, історією, музикою і театром, а також залюбки пізнають інші культури, знайомляться з новими людьми, обмінюються досвідом.
